CONCORDIA SOCCER

Group History:

On January 20, 1957 a group of soccer enthusiasts gathered to establish the present soccer club under the name and sponsorship of the Greater Beneficial Union. We started our first season in the second division of the Cleveland Soccer League and won the championship that year and advanced to the first division the following year. On July 10, 1959, the soccer club joined the Society at the Banater Club and changed it’s name to Sports Club Donauschwaben. In 1963, SCD Concordia formed the first youth soccer program in Ohio.  We have been fielding adult (SCD Concordia) and youth (Concordia Soccer Club) teams ever since. When the Cultural Center opened in 1985 the club moved to the cultural center and indoor soccer started and is still going strong .
