FRAUENGRUPPE 2.0
Women’s Group
Group History:
The Frauengruppe was founded in 1959 by Katharina Ritzman. It began as a group of women who came together in friendship and camaraderie to maintain and promote the traditions and customs of their homeland, such as baking, singing folksongs and volunteering. The Frauen continue to meet once a month at Lenau as a Kaffee Klatsch.
The group has recently had a generational change and are now meeting as Fruengruppe 2.0 on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm. They are continuing the mission of fostering friendships, Donauschwaben preservation, and volunteering at Lenau Park.
Goals and Purpose:
Our members are driven by a deep sense of history and heritage, our primary 'why' is the strength of the community and the friendships formed within it. We are a group rooted in tradition but focused on the sustainable future of our home at Lenau Park.
Meeting Schedule:
We meet every 3rd Thursday of each month at 7pm
Membership:
Membership is open to all women interested in upholding the goal and purpose of our group.
