Hans Kopp honored by
United States Youth Soccer Association

During the week of March 1st to the 3rd, the United States Youth Soccer Association held their Annual Workshop and Coaches Convention in St, Louis, Missouri.

Invited to take part at this convention was a group of youth soccer people to be honored as Founder of the United States Youth Soccer Association at their Gala Banquet.

Our own member Hans Kopp, long time Jugendleiter of the Fussball Clubs and first president of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association-North was among the chosen few to be honored.

Hans contributed to the United States Soccer in many ways, however best known is as committee member of the National Coaches Committee which created the United States Coaching School in May of 1977 and as member of the National Olympic Soccer Development Committee and director of its region II ODP program 1977-1983.

As such Hans was a staff member for the Mid-West Regional soccer team of the 1979 National Sports Festival, held at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, he directed seven region II soccer training camps and two national soccer training camps, one in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center in 1981 and one in San Antonio, Texas at Fort Sam Houston in 1982.

It was not just an honor for Hans to be among chosen few to receive this award, but it was the thrill of a life time for him to be introduced as a FOUNDER of the US Youth Soccer Association at this Gala Banquet in front of nearly 2,000 cheering and applauding workshop participants of the US Youth Soccer Movement.
